AJ Busard, M.S.

Senior Academic Advisor
Primary office:

Welcome to the Undergraduate Advising Center! My name is AJ, and I am a senior academic advisor in charge of the Academic Recovery Program. I can help you with such things as choosing appropriate courses, discussing available resources, and investigating various academic paths. As important as all of these things may be, the rollercoaster of life isn’t always smooth or predictable, and so I look forward to talking with you about all facets of life—anything and everything that may help you to know who you are, what you want, and how to get it.

A little about me: I served as a musician in the United States Marine Corps for four years touring up and down the East Coast. I then earned a Bachelor of Music (’09) degree from Western Illinois University and decided to stay for a Master of Science in College Student Personnel (’11). How did I go from music to academic advising? It’s pretty simple, really. While learning about music and assisting student groups, I discovered that I loved working with undergraduate students and greatly appreciated the microcosm known as higher education. In no time I was hooked and, fortunately for me, I get to work with Jayhawks every day—Rock Chalk!
